John 1:1-18 The Word (Prologue)

John 1:1-18 proclaims the deity, preexistence, creative role, incarnation, and redemptive mission of Jesus Christ. He is the Word who was with God in the beginning; through Him all things were made. He is the life and light of men, shining in darkness. Though the world did not know Him, all who receive Him become children of God. The law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. The only Son has made God known. This prologue lays the foundation for the entire Gospel: Jesus is the revelation of God's glory and the only Savior for humanity.
