John 1:19-34 John the Baptist Testifies

This passage records how John the Baptist testified about Jesus. He humbly denied being the Christ, Elijah, or the Prophet, calling himself only 'the voice in the wilderness.' His water baptism pointed to the Greater One — Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. John saw the Spirit descend like a dove and remain on Jesus, and he recognized Him as the Son of God who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.
