1. 1.욥이 대답하여 이르되Then Job answered and said,💡
2. 2.너희가 내 마음을 괴롭히며 말로 나를 짓부수기를 어느 때까지 하겠느냐How long will ye vex my soul, And break me in pieces with words?💡
3. 3.너희가 열 번이나 나를 학대하고도 부끄러워 아니하는구나These ten times have ye reproached me: Ye are not ashamed that ye deal hardly with me.💡
4. 4.비록 내게 허물이 있다 할지라도 그 허물이 내게만 있느냐And be it indeed that I have erred, Mine error remaineth with myself.💡
5. 5.너희가 참으로 나를 향하여 자만하며 내게 수치스러운 행위가 있다고 증언하려면 하려니와If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, And plead against me my reproach;💡
6. 6.하나님이 나를 억울하게 하시고 자기 그물로 나를 에워싸신 줄을 알아야 할지니라Know now that God hath subverted me in my cause, And hath compassed me with his net.💡
7. 7.내가 폭행을 당한다고 부르짖으나 응답이 없고 도움을 간구하였으나 정의가 없구나Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry for help, but there is no justice.💡
8. 8.그가 내 길을 막아 지나가지 못하게 하시고 내 앞길에 어둠을 두셨으며He hath walled up my way that I cannot pass, And hath set darkness in my paths.💡
9. 9.나의 영광을 거두어가시며 나의 관모를 머리에서 벗기시고He hath stripped me of my glory, And taken the crown from my head.💡
10. 10.사면으로 나를 헐으시니 나는 죽었구나 내 희망을 나무 뽑듯 뽑으시고He hath broken me down on every side, and I am gone; And my hope hath he plucked up like a tree.💡
11. 11.나를 향하여 진노하시고 원수 같이 보시는구나He hath also kindled his wrath against me, And he counteth me unto him as one of his adversaries.💡
12. 12.그 군대가 일제히 나아와서 길을 돋우고 나를 치며 내 장막을 둘러 진을 쳤구나His troops come on together, And cast up their way against me, And encamp round about my tent.💡
13. 13.나의 형제들이 나를 멀리 떠나게 하시니 나를 아는 모든 사람이 내게 낯선 사람이 되었구나He hath put my brethren far from me, And mine acquaintance are wholly estranged from me.💡
14. 14.내 친척은 나를 버렸으며 가까운 친지들은 나를 잊었구나My kinsfolk have failed, And my familiar friends have forgotten me.💡
15. 15.내 집에 머물러 사는 자와 내 여종들은 나를 낯선 사람으로 여기니 내가 그들 앞에서 타국 사람이 되었구나They that dwell in my house, and my maids, count me for a stranger; I am an alien in their sight.💡
16. 16.내가 내 종을 불러도 대답하지 아니하니 내 입으로 그에게 간청하여야 하겠구나I call unto my servant, and he giveth me no answer, Though I entreat him with my mouth.💡
17. 17.내 아내도 내 숨결을 싫어하며 내 허리의 자식들도 나를 가련하게 여기는구나My breath is strange to my wife, And my supplication to the children of mine own mother.💡
18. 18.어린 아이들까지도 나를 업신여기고 내가 일어나면 나를 조롱하는구나Even young children despise me; If I arise, they speak against me.💡
19. 19.나의 가까운 친구들이 나를 미워하며 내가 사랑하는 사람들이 돌이켜 나의 원수가 되었구나All my familiar friends abhor me, And they whom I loved are turned against me.💡
20. 20.내 피부와 살이 뼈에 붙었고 남은 것은 겨우 잇몸 뿐이로구나My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, And I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.💡
21. 21.나의 친구야 너희는 나를 불쌍히 여겨다오 나를 불쌍히 여겨다오 하나님의 손이 나를 치셨구나Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; For the hand of God hath touched me.💡
22. 22.너희가 어찌하여 하나님처럼 나를 박해하느냐 내 살로도 부족하냐Why do ye persecute me as God, And are not satisfied with my flesh?💡
23. 23.나의 말이 곧 기록되었으면, 책에 씌어졌으면,Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!💡
24. 24.철필과 납으로 영원히 돌에 새겨졌으면 좋겠노라That with an iron pen and lead They were graven in the rock for ever!💡
25. 25.내가 알기에는 나의 대속자가 살아 계시니 마침내 그가 땅 위에 서실 것이라But as for me I know that my Redeemer liveth, And at last he will stand up upon the earth:💡
26. 26.내 가죽이 벗김을 당한 뒤에도 내가 육체 밖에서 하나님을 보리라And after my skin, even this body, is destroyed, Then without my flesh shall I see God;💡
27. 27.내가 그를 보리니 내 눈으로 그를 보기를 낯선 사람처럼 하지 않을 것이라 내 마음이 초조하구나Whom I, even I, shall see, on my side, And mine eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger. My heart is consumed within me.💡
28. 28.너희가 만일 이르기를 우리가 그를 어떻게 칠까 하며 또 이르기를 일의 뿌리가 그에게 있다 할진대If ye say, How we will persecute him! And that the root of the matter is found in me;💡
29. 29.너희는 칼을 두려워 할지니라 분노는 칼의 형벌을 부르나니 너희가 심판장이 있는 줄을 알게 되리라Be ye afraid of the sword: For wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, That ye may know there is a judgment.💡
