Abel
Creation and Patriarchs
Abel was the second son of Adam and Eve, whose name means 'vapor' or 'breath.' A keeper of sheep, he offered the firstlings of his flock and their fat by faith and was accepted by God, only to be murdered by his brother Cain, becoming history's first righteous man and martyr.
Abraham
The father of faith, central to God's covenant promises, called from Ur to Canaan.
Adam
Adam is the first man recorded in Scripture, formed by God from the dust of the ground and given the breath of life; he lived with Eve in the garden, and through disobedience brought sin and death into the world, representing all humanity.
Benjamin
Benjamin was the youngest son of Jacob and Rachel, born on the way near Bethel; his father renamed him from Ben-oni to Benjamin, meaning "son of the right hand" or "son of the south." He later became the ancestor of the tribe of Benjamin among the twelve tribes of Israel.
Cain
Cain was the firstborn son of Adam and Eve, whose name means "acquired." Driven by jealousy, he murdered his brother Abel, becoming the first murderer in Scripture—a narrative that carries enduring themes of sin, repentance, and divine mercy.
Enoch
Enoch, a descendant of Seth, was taken by God after walking with Him, without experiencing death.
