- 1.但 如 今 , 比 我 年 少 的 人 戲 笑 我 ; 其 人 之 父 我 曾 藐 視 , 不 肯 安 在 看 守 我 羊 群 的 狗 中 。But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, Whose fathers I disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.
- 2.他 們 壯 年 的 氣 力 既 已 衰 敗 , 其 手 之 力 與 我 何 益 呢 ?Yea, the strength of their hands, whereto should it profit me? Men in whom ripe age is perished.
- 3.他 們 因 窮 乏 飢 餓 , 身 體 枯 瘦 , 在 荒 廢 淒 涼 的 幽 暗 中 , 齦 乾 燥 之 地 ,They are gaunt with want and famine; They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of wasteness and desolation.
- 4.在 草 叢 之 中 採 鹹 草 , 羅 騰 ( 小 樹 名 , 松 類 ) 的 根 為 他 們 的 食 物 。They pluck salt-wort by the bushes; And the roots of the broom are their food.
- 5.他 們 從 人 中 被 趕 出 ; 人 追 喊 他 們 如 賊 一 般 ,They are driven forth from the midst of men; They cry after them as after a thief;
- 6.以 致 他 們 住 在 荒 谷 之 間 , 在 地 洞 和 巖 穴 中 ;So that they dwell in frightful valleys, In holes of the earth and of the rocks.
- 7.在 草 叢 中 叫 喚 , 在 荊 棘 下 聚 集 。Among the bushes they bray; Under the nettles they are gathered together.
- 8.這 都 是 愚 頑 下 賤 人 的 兒 女 ; 他 們 被 鞭 打 , 趕 出 境 外 。They are children of fools, yea, children of base men; They were scourged out of the land.
- 9.現 在 這 些 人 以 我 為 歌 曲 , 以 我 為 笑 談 。And now I am become their song, Yea, I am a byword unto them.
- 10.他 們 厭 惡 我 , 躲 在 旁 邊 站 著 , 不 住 地 吐 唾 沫 在 我 臉 上 。They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, And spare not to spit in my face.
- 11.鬆 開 他 們 的 繩 索 苦 待 我 , 在 我 面 前 脫 去 轡 頭 。For he hath loosed his cord, and afflicted me; And they have cast off the bridle before me.
- 12.這 等 下 流 人 在 我 右 邊 起 來 , 推 開 我 的 腳 , 築 成 戰 路 來 攻 擊 我 。Upon my right hand rise the rabble; They thrust aside my feet, And they cast up against me their ways of destruction.
- 13.這 些 無 人 幫 助 的 , 毀 壞 我 的 道 , 加 增 我 的 災 。They mar my path, They set forward my calamity, Even men that have no helper.
- 14.他 們 來 如 同 闖 進 大 破 口 , 在 毀 壞 之 間 滾 在 我 身 上 。As through a wide breach they come: In the midst of the ruin they roll themselves upon me.
- 15.驚 恐 臨 到 我 , 驅 逐 我 的 尊 榮 如 風 ; 我 的 福 祿 如 雲 過 去 。Terrors are turned upon me; They chase mine honor as the wind; And my welfare is passed away as a cloud.
- 16.現 在 我 心 極 其 悲 傷 ; 困 苦 的 日 子 將 我 抓 住 。And now my soul is poured out within me; Days of affliction have taken hold upon me.
- 17.夜 間 , 我 裡 面 的 骨 頭 刺 我 , 疼 痛 不 止 , 好 像 齦 我 。In the night season my bones are pierced in me, And the pains that gnaw me take no rest.
- 18.因 神 的 大 力 , 我 的 外 衣 污 穢 不 堪 , 又 如 裡 衣 的 領 子 將 我 纏 住 。By God's great force is my garment disfigured; It bindeth me about as the collar of my coat.
- 19.神 把 我 扔 在 淤 泥 中 , 我 就 像 塵 土 和 爐 灰 一 般 。He hath cast me into the mire, And I am become like dust and ashes.
- 20.主 啊 , 我 呼 求 你 , 你 不 應 允 我 ; 我 站 起 來 , 你 就 定 睛 看 我 。I cry unto thee, and thou dost not answer me: I stand up, and thou gazest at me.
- 21.你 向 我 變 心 , 待 我 殘 忍 , 又 用 大 能 追 逼 我 ,Thou art turned to be cruel to me; With the might of thy hand thou persecutest me.
- 22.把 我 提 在 風 中 , 使 我 駕 風 而 行 , 又 使 我 消 滅 在 烈 風 中 。Thou liftest me up to the wind, thou causest me to ride upon it; And thou dissolvest me in the storm.
- 23.我 知 道 要 使 我 臨 到 死 地 , 到 那 為 眾 生 所 定 的 陰 宅 。For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, And to the house appointed for all living.
- 24.然 而 , 人 仆 倒 豈 不 伸 手 ? 遇 災 難 豈 不 求 救 呢 ?Howbeit doth not one stretch out the hand in his fall? Or in his calamity therefore cry for help?
- 25.人 遭 難 , 我 豈 不 為 他 哭 泣 呢 ? 人 窮 乏 , 我 豈 不 為 他 憂 愁 呢 ?Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? Was not my soul grieved for the needy?
- 26.我 仰 望 得 好 處 , 災 禍 就 到 了 ; 我 等 待 光 明 , 黑 暗 便 來 了 。When I looked for good, then evil came; And when I waited for light, there came darkness.
- 27.我 心 裡 煩 擾 不 安 , 困 苦 的 日 子 臨 到 我 身 。My heart is troubled, and resteth not; Days of affliction are come upon me.
- 28.我 沒 有 日 光 就 哀 哭 行 去 ( 或 譯 : 我 面 發 黑 並 非 因 日 曬 ) ; 我 在 會 中 站 著 求 救 。I go mourning without the sun: I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help.
- 29.我 與 野 狗 為 弟 兄 , 與 鴕 鳥 為 同 伴 。I am a brother to jackals, And a companion to ostriches.
- 30.我 的 皮 膚 黑 而 脫 落 ; 我 的 骨 頭 因 熱 燒 焦 。My skin is black, and falleth from me, And my bones are burned with heat.
- 31.所 以 , 我 的 琴 音 變 為 悲 音 ; 我 的 簫 聲 變 為 哭 聲 。Therefore is my harp turned to mourning, And my pipe into the voice of them that weep.
