1.Hermanos, ciertamente el anhelo de mi corazón, y mi oración a Dios por Israel, es para salvación.Brethren, my heart's desire and my supplication to God is for them, that they may be saved.
2.Porque yo les doy testimonio de que tienen celo de Dios, pero no conforme a ciencia.For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3.Porque ignorando la justicia de Dios, y procurando establecer la suya propia, no se han sujetado a la justicia de Dios;For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
4.porque el fin de la ley es Cristo, para justicia a todo aquel que cree.For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to every one that believeth.
5.Porque de la justicia que es por la ley Moisés escribe así: El hombre que haga estas cosas, vivirá por ellas.For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby.
6.Pero la justicia que es por la fe dice así: No digas en tu corazón: ¿Quién subirá al cielo? (esto es, para traer abajo a Cristo);But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:)
7.o, ¿quién descenderá al abismo? (esto es, para hacer subir a Cristo de entre los muertos).or, Who shall descend into the abyss? (That is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)
8.Mas ¿qué dice? Cerca de ti está la palabra, en tu boca y en tu corazón. Esta es la palabra de fe que predicamos:But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
9.que si confesares con tu boca que Jesús es el Señor, y creyeres en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, serás salvo.because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:
10.Porque con el corazón se cree para justicia, pero con la boca se confiesa para salvación.for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11.Pues la Escritura dice: Todo aquel que en él creyere, no será avergonzado.For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
12.Porque no hay diferencia entre judío y griego, pues el mismo que es Señor de todos, es rico para con todos los que le invocan;For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him:
13.porque todo aquel que invocare el nombre del Señor, será salvo.for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14.¿Cómo, pues, invocarán a aquel en el cual no han creído? ¿Y cómo creerán en aquel de quien no han oído? ¿Y cómo oirán sin haber quien les predique?How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15.¿Y cómo predicarán si no fueren enviados? Como está escrito: ¡Cuán hermosos son los pies de los que anuncian la paz, de los que anuncian buenas nuevas!and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!
16.Mas no todos obedecieron al evangelio; pues Isaías dice: Señor, ¿quién ha creído a nuestro anuncio?But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17.Así que la fe es por el oír, y el oír, por la palabra de Dios.So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
18.Pero digo: ¿No han oído? Antes bien, Por toda la tierra ha salido la voz de ellos, Y hasta los fines de la tierra sus palabras.But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world.
19.También digo: ¿No ha conocido esto Israel? Primeramente Moisés dice: Yo os provocaré a celos con un pueblo que no es pueblo; Con pueblo insensato os provocaré a ira.But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding will I anger you.
20.E Isaías dice resueltamente: Fui hallado de los que no me buscaban; Me manifesté a los que no preguntaban por mí.And Isaiah is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I became manifest unto them that asked not of me.
21.Pero acerca de Israel dice: Todo el día extendí mis manos a un puebo rebelde y contradictor.But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
