1.슬프다 구스의 강 건너편 날개 치는 소리 나는 땅이여Ah, the land of the rustling of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia;
2.갈대 배를 물에 띄우고 그 사자를 수로로 보내며 이르기를 민첩한 사절들아 너희는 강들이 흘러 나누인 나라로 가되 장대하고 준수한 백성 곧 시초부터 두려움이 되며 강성하여 대적을 밟는 백성에게로 가라 하는도다that sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of papyrus upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, to a people terrible from their beginning onward, a nation that meteth out and treadeth down, whose land the rivers divide!
3.세상의 모든 거민, 지상에 사는 너희여 산들 위에 기치를 세우거든 너희는 보고 나팔을 불거든 너희는 들을지니라All ye inhabitants of the world, and ye dwellers on the earth, when an ensign is lifted up on the mountains, see ye; and when the trumpet is blown, hear ye.
4.여호와께서 내게 이르시되 내가 나의 처소에서 조용히 감찰함이 쬐이는 일광 같고 가을 더위에 운무 같도다For thus hath Jehovah said unto me, I will be still, and I will behold in my dwelling-place, like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
5.추수하기 전에 꽃이 떨어지고 포도가 맺혀 익어갈 때에 내가 낫으로 그 연한 가지를 베며 퍼진 가지를 찍어 버려서For before the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becometh a ripening grape, he will cut off the sprigs with pruning-hooks, and the spreading branches will he take away and cut down.
6.산의 독수리들과 땅의 들짐승들에게 던져 주리니 산의 독수리들이 그것으로 여름을 지내며 땅의 들짐승들이 다 그것으로 겨울을 지내리라 하셨음이라They shall be left together unto the ravenous birds of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth; and the ravenous birds shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
7.그 때에 강들이 흘러 나누인 나라의 장대하고 준수한 백성 곧 시초부터 두려움이 되며 강성하여 대적을 밟는 백성이 만군의 여호와께 드릴 예물을 가지고 만군의 여호와의 이름을 두신 곳 시온 산에 이르리라In that time shall a present be brought unto Jehovah of hosts from a people tall and smooth, even from a people terrible from their beginning onward, a nation that meteth out and treadeth down, whose land the rivers divide, to the place of the name of Jehovah of hosts, the mount Zion.
