1.야곱의 집이여 이를 들을지어다 너희는 이스라엘의 이름으로 일컬음을 받으며 유다의 허리에서 나왔으며 여호와의 이름으로 맹세하며 이스라엘의 하나님을 기념하면서도 진실이 없고 공의가 없도다Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of Jehovah, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness
2.그들은 거룩한 성 출신이라고 스스로 부르며 이스라엘의 하나님을 의지한다 하며 그의 이름이 만군의 여호와라고 하나(for they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; Jehovah of hosts is his name):
3.내가 예로부터 처음 일들을 알게 하였고 내 입에서 그것들이 나갔으며 또 내가 그것들을 듣게 하였고 내가 홀연히 행하여 그 일들이 이루어졌느니라I have declared the former things from of old; yea, they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them: suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.
4.내가 알거니와 너는 완고하며 네 목은 쇠의 힘줄이요 네 이마는 놋이라Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
5.그러므로 내가 이 일을 예로부터 네게 알게 하였고 일이 이루어지기 전에 그것을 네게 듣게 하였느니라 그것을 네가 듣게 하여 네가 이것을 내 신이 행한 바요 내가 새긴 신상과 부어 만든 신상이 명령한 바라 말하지 못하게 하였느니라therefore I have declared it to thee from of old; before it came to pass I showed it thee; lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
6.네가 들었으니 이 모든 것을 보라 너희가 선전하지 아니하겠느냐 이제부터 내가 새 일 곧 네가 알지 못하던 은비한 일을 네게 듣게 하노니Thou hast heard it; behold all this; and ye, will ye not declare it? I have showed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, which thou hast not known.
7.이 일들은 지금 창조된 것이요 옛 것이 아니라 오늘 이전에는 네가 듣지 못하였으니 이는 네가 말하기를 내가 이미 알았노라 하지 못하게 하려 함이라They are created now, and not from of old; and before this day thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
8.네가 과연 듣지도 못하였고 알지도 못하였으며 네 귀가 옛적부터 열리지 못하였나니 이는 네가 정녕 배신하여 모태에서부터 네가 배역한 자라 불린 줄을 내가 알았음이라Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from of old thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou didst deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
9.내 이름을 위하여 내가 노하기를 더디 할 것이며 내 영광을 위하여 내가 참고 너를 멸절하지 아니하리라For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
10.보라 내가 너를 연단하였으나 은처럼 하지 아니하고 너를 고난의 풀무 불에서 택하였노라Behold, I have refined thee, but not as silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
11.나는 나를 위하며 나를 위하여 이를 이룰 것이라 어찌 내 이름을 욕되게 하리요 내 영광을 다른 자에게 주지 아니하리라For mine own sake, for mine own sake, will I do it; for how should my name be profaned? and my glory will I not give to another.
12.야곱아 내가 부른 이스라엘아 내게 들으라 나는 그니 나는 처음이요 또 나는 마지막이라Hearken unto me, O Jacob, and Israel my called: I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
13.과연 내 손이 땅의 기초를 정하였고 내 오른손이 하늘을 폈나니 내가 그들을 부르면 그것들이 일제히 서느니라Yea, my hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spread out the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
14.너희는 다 모여 들으라 나 여호와가 사랑하는 자는 나의 기뻐하는 뜻을 바벨론에 행하리니 그의 팔이 갈대아인에게 임할 것이라 그들 중에 누가 이 일들을 알게 하였느냐Assemble yourselves, all ye, and hear; who among them hath declared these things? He whom Jehovah loveth shall perform his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
15.나 곧 내가 말하였고 또 내가 그를 부르며 그를 인도하였나니 그 길이 형통하리라I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him; I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
16.너희는 내게 가까이 나아와 이것을 들으라 내가 처음부터 비밀히 말하지 아니하였나니 그것이 있을 때부터 내가 거기에 있었노라 하셨느니라 이제는 주 여호와께서 나와 그의 영을 보내셨느니라Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; from the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord Jehovah hath sent me, and his Spirit.
17.너희의 구속자시요 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이이신 여호와께서 이르시되 나는 네게 유익하도록 가르치고 너를 마땅히 행할 길로 인도하는 네 하나님 여호와라Thus saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am Jehovah thy God, who teacheth thee to profit, who leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
18.네가 나의 명령에 주의하였더라면 네 평강이 강과 같았겠고 네 공의가 바다 물결 같았을 것이며Oh that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
19.네 자손이 모래 같았겠고 네 몸의 소생이 모래 알 같아서 그의 이름이 내 앞에서 끊어지지 아니하였겠고 없어지지 아니하였으리라 하셨느니라thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the grains thereof: his name would not be cut off nor destroyed from before me.
20.너희는 바벨론에서 나와서 갈대아인을 피하고 즐거운 소리로 이를 알게 하여 들려 주며 땅 끝까지 반포하여 이르기를 여호와께서 그의 종 야곱을 구속하셨다 하라Go ye forth from Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans; with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth: say ye, Jehovah hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
21.여호와께서 그들을 사막으로 통과하게 하시던 때에 그들이 목마르지 아니하게 하시되 그들을 위하여 바위에서 물이 흘러나게 하시며 바위를 쪼개사 물이 솟아나게 하셨느니라And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
22.여호와께서 말씀하시되 악인에게는 평강이 없다 하셨느니라There is no peace, saith Jehovah, to the wicked.
