Ezra
Prophets and Exile
Ezra was a priest and scribe who went up from Babylon to Jerusalem, a ready scribe skilled in the law of Moses which Jehovah the God of Israel had given. He set his heart to seek the law of Jehovah, to do it, and to teach Israel statutes and ordinances.
Zerubbabel
Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel and descendant of David, served as governor of Judah and led the returned exiles in rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem, making him a key link to the messianic hope of the Old Testament.
