Samuel
Conquest and Judges
Samuel was a prophet, judge, and priest who bridged Israel's era of the Judges and the rise of the monarchy. Called when God's word was rare, he restored the prophetic office and anointed both Saul and David, shaping Israel's spiritual transition.

Israel's greatest king, a man after God's own heart and the principal author of the Psalms.
Eli
Eli was the high priest and judge of Israel at the close of the era of the Judges, stationed at the tabernacle in Shiloh. He observed Hannah's prayer and raised Samuel, who would later become prophet and judge of Israel.
Jonathan
Jonathan was the eldest son of Saul and David's most faithful friend. He made a deep covenant with David, protected him at the cost of his own standing, and witnessed the transfer of the kingdom to David's line.
Saul
Saul was the first king of Israel as recorded in Scripture, anointed by Samuel to reign, but was rejected by God because of his disobedience and died tragically on Mount Gilboa.
