2.在五年，月的第七天，当迦勒底人攻取耶路撒冷，用火焚烧它的时候。in the fifth year, on the seventh day of the month, at the time when the Chalde′ans took Jerusalem and burned it with fire.
3.巴录在耶和雅敬的儿子犹大王约雅敬面前，以及所有来听这书的人面前，读这书上的话。And Baruch read the words of this book in the hearing of Jeconi′ah the son of Jehoi′akim, king of Judah, and in the hearing of all the people who came to hear the book,
4.在勇士和首领面前，在长老面前，也在所有人民面前，无论大小，都在巴比伦的苏德河旁居住的人听见了。and in the hearing of the mighty men and the princes, and in the hearing of the elders, and in the hearing of all the people, small and great, all who dwelt in Babylon by the river Sud.
5.于是他们哭泣、禁食、在耶和华面前祷告；Then they wept, and fasted, and prayed before the Lord;
6.他们收集钱财，每人照所能给。and they collected money, each giving what he could;

9.尼布甲尼撒王攻占耶路撒冷，将耶路撒冷的王耶哥尼雅和官长、监狱中的囚犯、国中的勇士、民中的众人都带到巴比伦。after Nebuchadnez′zar king of Babylon had carried away from Jerusalem Jeconi′ah and the princes and the prisoners and the mighty men and the people of the land, and brought them to Babylon.
10.写给耶路撒冷的一封信 他们说：我们附信送钱给你，用这钱买燔祭和赎罪祭的牺牲，并买香，还要预备细面粉作供物，在我们神主的坛上献上。A Letter to Jerusalem And they said: “Herewith we send you money; so buy with the money burnt offerings and sin offerings and incense, and prepare a cereal offering, and offer them upon the altar of the Lord our God;
11.为巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的生命祈祷，也为他儿子伯沙撒的生命祈祷，愿他们在地上的日子像天上的日子一样。and pray for the life of Nebuchadnez′zar king of Babylon, and for the life of Belshaz′zar his son, that their days on earth may be like the days of heaven.
12.主必赐给我们力量，赐光明我们的眼目，我们必在巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的荫下和他儿子伯沙撒的荫下安然居住，并且必在他们面前侍奉多日，得他们的恩惠。And the Lord will give us strength, and he will give light to our eyes, and we shall live under the protection of Nebuchadnez′zar king of Babylon, and under the protection of Belshaz′zar his son, and we shall serve them many days and find favor in their sight.
13.求你们为我们在我们神主面前祷告，因为我们得罪了我们神主，直到今日，主的怒气和忿怒仍没有离开我们。And pray for us to the Lord our God, for we have sinned against the Lord our God, and to this day the anger of the Lord and his wrath have not turned away from us.
14.你们要将我们寄给你们的这书，在耶和华的殿中，在节期和规定的日期，向众人宣读，以使你们承认自己的罪过。And you shall read this book which we are sending you, to make your confession in the house of the Lord on the days of the feasts and at appointed seasons.
15.罪孽的认罪 “你们要说：‘义属乎我们的神耶和华，至于我们和犹大的人，并耶路撒冷的居民，今日的羞耻却归我们，Confession of Sins “And you shall say: ‘Righteousness belongs to the Lord our God, but confusion of face, as at this day, to us, to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
16.和我们的列王，我们的官长，我们的祭司，我们的先知和我们的祖先，and to our kings and our princes and our priests and our prophets and our fathers,
17.因为我们得罪了上帝，because we have sinned before the Lord,
18.并且违背了他，不听从耶和华我们神的言语，不遵行耶和华为我们所立的律例。and have disobeyed him, and have not heeded the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in the statutes of the Lord which he set before us.
19.从耶和华我们的神将我们的列祖从埃及地领出来的那天直到今日，我们常常违背耶和华我们的神，不听从他的话。From the day when the Lord brought our fathers out of the land of Egypt until today, we have been disobedient to the Lord our God, and we have been negligent, in not heeding his voice.
20.直到今日，那些祸患和咒诅仍然留在我们身上，这些都是主通过他的仆人摩西在他带领我们的祖先出埃及地，给我们一个流奶与蜜的美地的时候所宣告的。So to this day there have clung to us the calamities and the curse which the Lord declared through Moses his servant at the time when he brought our fathers out of the land of Egypt to give to us a land flowing with milk and honey.
21.我们没有听从耶和华我们神的話语，就是他所差到我们那里所有的先知的话语，各人都随从自己的恶心去侍奉别的神，行耶和华我们神眼中看为恶的事。We did not heed the voice of the Lord our God in all the words of the prophets whom he sent to us, but we each followed the intent of his own wicked heart by serving other gods and doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord our God.
