1.上帝起初创造天地的时候——When God began to create heaven and earth—
2.地却是空虚混沌，深渊的面却是黑暗，神的灵却在水面上飘浮the earth being unformed and void, with darkness over the surface of the deep and a wind from God sweeping over the water—
3.上帝说：“要有光”，就有了光。God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
4.上帝看见光是好的，就把光和暗分开了。God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.
5.上帝称光为昼，称暗为夜。有晚上，有早晨，这是第一日。God called the light Day—and called the darkness Night. And there was evening and there was morning, a first day.
6.上帝说：“水之间要有空气，来分开水与水。”God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the water, that it may separate water from water.”
7.上帝造了空气，空气就把空气以下的水和空气以上的水分开了。事就这样成了。God made the expanse, and it separated the water that was below the expanse from the water that was above the expanse. And it was so.
8.上帝称空气为天。有晚上，有早晨，就是第二天。God called the expanse Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
9.神说：“天下的水要聚在一处，好显出旱地来。”于是就成了。God said, “Let the water below the sky be gathered into one area, that the dry land may appear.” And it was so.
10.神称坚干的地为地，称水的聚集为海。神看着是好的。God called the dry land Earth—and called the gathering of waters Seas. And God saw that this was good.
11.神说：“让地上长出菜蔬，结种子的菜蔬和结果子的树木，果子里含着种子，各从其类，在地上。”于是就这样成了。And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation: seed-bearing plants, fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.” And it was so.
12.地生出菜蔬和结种子的植物，并生出结果子的树，果中有种子。神看为好。The earth brought forth vegetation: seed-bearing plants of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that this was good.
13.有晚上，有早晨，就是第三天。And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
14.神说：“天上要有光体，来分开昼夜，光体也要作为征兆、季节、日子和年份的标记；God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate day from night; they shall serve as signs for the set times—the days and the years;
15.他们要在天空的穹苍上发光，照耀于地。事就这样成了。and they shall serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth.” And it was so.
16.上帝造了两个大光，大的光管治晝， 작은光管治夜，又造了众星。God made the two great lights, the greater light to dominate the day and the lesser light to dominate the night, and the stars.
17.神就把这些光放在天空的穹窿中，发光于地，And God set them in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth,
18.统治白天和黑夜，并将光与暗分开。神看这是好的。to dominate the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that this was good.
19.有晚上，有早晨，就是第四天。And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
20.神说：“水要滋生万物的活着的灵，鸟要飞在地面以上，天空之中。”God said, “Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and birds that fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.”
21.上帝创造了大海中的巨兽和水中各样的爬行生物，这些生物都是水所滋生和繁殖的，并且创造了各种各样的有翼鸟。上帝看这是好的。God created the great sea monsters, and all the living creatures of every kind that creep, which the waters brought forth in swarms, and all the winged birds of every kind. And God saw that this was good.
22.神就赐福他们，說：「要生育繁多，充满海中的水，鸟也要在地上繁多。God blessed them, saying, “Be fertile and increase, fill the waters in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”
23.有晚上，有早晨，就是第五天。And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
24.神说：“地要生出活物来，各从其类：牲畜，昆虫，野地的兽，各从其类。”于是竟成了这样。God said, “Let the earth bring forth every kind of living creature: cattle, creeping things, and wild beasts of every kind.” And it was so.
25.上帝造出地上各样的野兽和牲畜，并地上所爬的一切物。上帝看着是好的。God made wild beasts of every kind and cattle of every kind, and all kinds of creeping things of the earth. And God saw that this was good.
26.上帝说：“我们要照着我们的形象，按着我们的样式造人，使他们管理海里的鱼、天上的鸟、地上的牲畜和全地，并地上所爬的一切爬物。”And God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness. They shall rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the cattle, the whole earth, and all the creeping things that creep on earth.”
27.上帝用祂的形象创造人，按着上帝的形象创造他们，造男造女。And God created humankind in the divine image,creating it in the image of God—creating them male and female.
28.上帝赐福他们，又对他们说，要生养众多，遍满地面，也要治理这地，又要管理海里的鱼，空中的鸟和地上所行的一切活物。God blessed them and God said to them, “Be fertile and increase, fill the earth and master it; and rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and all the living things that creep on earth.”
29.神说：“看哪，我将地上所有的结种子植物和所有的树木结有种子的果子都赐给你们作食物。God said, “See, I give you every seed-bearing plant that is upon all the earth, and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit; they shall be yours for food.
30.又将所有地上的动物、天空的所有鸟、和地上一切爬行的活物，凡有生命的气息的，都赐给它们作食物的绿植物。于是就成了这样。And to all the animals on land, to all the birds of the sky, and to everything that creeps on earth, in which there is the breath of life, [I give] all the green plants for food.” And it was so.
31.上帝看着一切所造的，都甚好。有晚上，有早晨，是第六日。And God saw all that had been made, and found it very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
