6.但我要为我的国家、圣所和你们的妻子儿女报仇，因为所有的国家都聚集在一起，出于仇恨来毁灭我们。But I will avenge my nation and the sanctuary and your wives and children, for all the nations have gathered together out of hatred to destroy us.”

14.特吕弗得知西门已经起来代替他的兄弟约拿单，并且他即将与他交战，就派遣使者到他那里，对他说，Trypho learned that Simon had risen up in place of Jonathan his brother, and that he was about to join battle with him, so he sent envoys to him and said,

17.西门知道他们是用诡计对付他，但他还是派人去取钱和儿子，免得激起人民的大怒，人们可能会说，Simon knew that they were speaking deceitfully to him, but he sent to get the money and the sons, lest he arouse great hostility among the people, who might say,
18.“因为西蒙没有送钱和儿子给他，所以他灭亡了。”“Because Simon did not send him the money and the sons, he perished.”
19.于是他送去了儿子和一百塔伦，但特利弗破坏了他的诺言，没有释放约拿单。So he sent the sons and the hundred talents, but Trypho broke his word and did not release Jonathan.

27.西蒙为他的父亲和他的兄弟建造了一座坟墓，他把它建得很高，以便从远处可以看到，用光滑的石头在前面和后面。And Simon built a monument over the tomb of his father and his brothers; he made it high that it might be seen, with polished stone at the front and back.

30.这是他在摩提丁所建造的坟墓，直到今日还在。This is the tomb which he built in Mo′de-in; it remains to this day.

37.我们已经收到了你们送来的金冠和棕榈枝，我们准备与你们缔结全面和平，并写信给我们的官员，免除你们的贡赋。We have received the gold crown and the palm branch which you sent, and we are ready to make a general peace with you and to write to our officials to grant you release from tribute.
38.我们所赐予你的所有恩赐仍然有效，你所建造的堡垒仍归你所有。All the grants that we have made to you remain valid, and let the strongholds that you have built be your possession.
39.我们宽恕到今天为止所犯的一切错误和冒犯，并取消你欠下的冠税；以及在耶路撒冷征收的其他任何税款都不再征收。We pardon any errors and offenses committed to this day, and cancel the crown tax which you owe; and whatever other tax has been collected in Jerusalem shall be collected no longer.
40.如果你们中有人有资格加入我们的护卫队，就让他们加入，我们之间就可以和平相处。And if any of you are qualified to be enrolled in our bodyguard, let them be enrolled, and let there be peace between us.”
41.一百七十年的时候，外邦人的轭从以色列人身上除去了，In the one hundred and seventieth year the yoke of the Gentiles was removed from Israel,
42.于是，人们开始在他们的文件和契约中写道，“是在大祭司西蒙的第一年，他是犹太人的统帅和领袖。”and the people began to write in their documents and contracts, “In the first year of Simon the great high priest and commander and leader of the Jews.”

45.城里的人，连同他们的妻子和孩子，都上到城墙，撕裂衣服，大声哀求西蒙与他们讲和；The men in the city, with their wives and children, went up on the wall with their clothes rent, and they cried out with a loud voice, asking Simon to make peace with them;
46.他们说：“不要按照我们的恶行待我们，乃要按照你的怜悯待我们。”they said, “Do not treat us according to our wicked acts but according to your mercy.”
47.于是西蒙与他们达成协议，并停止了对他们的攻击。但他将他们逐出城外，并洁净了那些曾经摆放偶像的房屋，随后伴着圣歌和赞美进入了城内。So Simon reached an agreement with them and stopped fighting against them. But he expelled them from the city and cleansed the houses in which the idols were, and then entered it with hymns and praise.
48.他将其中的一切不洁之物驱逐出去，又使守律的人住在其中。他又加固了它的防御工事，并在其中为自己建造了一座房屋。He cast out of it all uncleanness, and settled in it men who observed the law. He also strengthened its fortifications and built in it a house for himself.
49.西蒙收复耶路撒冷的要塞 耶路撒冷要塞里的人出不去乡间，也不能到处买卖，非常饥饿，很多人因饥荒而死亡。Simon Regains the Citadel at Jerusalem The men in the citadel at Jerusalem were prevented from going out to the country and back to buy and sell. So they were very hungry, and many of them perished from famine.
50.于是他们向西蒙求和，西蒙同意了。但他将他们赶出那里，并洁净了城堡中的污秽。Then they cried to Simon to make peace with them, and he did so. But he expelled them from there and cleansed the citadel from its pollutions.
