The King Ascends: A Victory Song of Faith and Trust
When God ascends the throne, every people must clap and shout — trusting His sovereign reign is faith's deepest rest.
For the leader. Of the Korahites. A psalm. All you peoples, clap your hands, raise a joyous shout for God. For GOD Most High is awesome, great ruler over all the earth, who subjects peoples to us,sets nations at our feet. [God] chose our heritage for us,the pride of Jacob the beloved. Selah. God ascends midst acclamation; the ETERNAL, to the blasts of the horn. Sing, O sing to God;sing, O sing to our sovereign; for God is ruler over all the earth;sing a hymn., a musical term of uncertain meaning. God reigns over the nations;God is seated on the holy throne. The great of the peoples are gathered together, the retinue of Abraham’s God;for the guardians of the earth belong to God,who is greatly exalted.
Psalm 47 is an enthronement psalm attributed to the Korahites. God is presented not merely as Israel's king but as 'great King over all the earth' — the very bedrock on which faith is anchored.
