- 1.那 時 ， 猶 大 離 開 他 弟 兄 下 去 ， 到 一 個 亞 杜 蘭 人 名 叫 希 拉 的 家 裡 去 。And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.

- 9.俄 南 知 道 生 子 不 歸 自 己 ， 所 以 同 房 的 時 候 便 遺 在 地 ， 免 得 給 他 哥 哥 留 後 。And Onan knew that the seed would not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest he should give seed to his brother.

And Tamar went and dwelt in her father's house.

- 16.猶 大 就 轉 到 他 那 裡 去 ， 說 ： 來 罷 ！ 讓 我 與 你 同 寢 。 他 原 不 知 道 是 他 的 兒 婦 。 他 瑪 說 ： 你 要 與 我 同 寢 ， 把 甚 麼 給 我 呢 ？And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Come, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee: for he knew not that she was his daughter-in-law. And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?
- 17.猶 大 說 ： 我 從 羊 群 裡 取 一 隻 山 羊 羔 ， 打 發 人 送 來 給 你 。 他 瑪 說 ： 在 未 送 以 先 ， 你 願 意 給 我 一 個 當 頭 麼 ？And he said, I will send thee a kid of the goats from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it?
- 18.他 說 ： 我 給 你 甚 麼 當 頭 呢 ？ 他 瑪 說 ： 你 的 印 、 你 的 帶 子 ， 和 你 手 裡 的 杖 。 猶 大 就 給 了 他 ， 與 他 同 寢 ， 他 就 從 猶 大 懷 了 孕 。And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet and thy cord, and thy staff that is in thy hand. And he gave them to her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him.

And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.
