Samson · 电影 · 2018 · 110 分钟
A 2018 dramatisation of the biblical judge Samson, a Nazirite endowed with supernatural strength, who battles the Philistines after losing the woman he loves.
剧情简介
The film portrays a young Hebrew named Samson who is chosen by God and endowed with supernatural strength. After losing the love of his life to a Philistine prince, he defends his people and ultimately sacrifices everything to fight against evil in God's name, eventually confronting Delilah and the Philistine king who try to take away the source of his power: his hair.
The story is drawn from the book of Judges, chapters 13–16. The scripture anchors given for this guide focus on the Nazirite vow: from the womb Samson was to be dedicated to God, no razor was to touch his head, and through him God would begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines (Judges 13:5).
对应经文出处
- 士师记 13:5The angel of the Lord announces to Samson's mother that her son will be a Nazirite to God from the womb, that no razor shall come on his head, and that he will begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines. This passage establishes the foundation for the whole story: Samson's strength and his uncut hair belong to a consecration vow, and his life has a God-given purpose beyond personal revenge.
与圣经的出入
Watch for ways the film may dramatise, compress, or rearrange elements compared with the text of Judges 13–16. For example, Judges 13:5 frames Samson from birth as a Nazirite to God whose uncut hair is part of a consecration vow, not merely a mechanical source of strength. Compare how the film presents the vow: as a sacred dedication before God, or as a physical switch. Other details commonly condensed include the timing of Samson's betrayals, the number and identity of the women in his life, and the circumstances of his final act in the temple of Dagon.
Scripture also makes clear that Samson's purpose, even before his birth, was that he would begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines (Judges 13:5). When watching, consider how the film balances his private losses with this public, God-given mission, and whether the framing centres his personal vengeance or his role within God's deliverance of Israel.
讨论问题
- 1
Why is Samson called a Nazirite in Judges 13:5, and why does his hair matter?
Judges 13:5 says the child shall be a Nazirite unto God from the womb, and no razor shall come upon his head. The Nazirite vow was a special dedication to God, and the uncut hair was a visible sign of that consecration, not just a physical source of power.
- 2
What was God's stated purpose for Samson before he was born?
Judges 13:5 declares that he shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. His life was framed by God as part of Israel's deliverance, even though the book of Judges goes on to show his serious moral failures.
- 3
How should viewers weigh Samson's personal losses against his public mission?
Judges 13:5 sets the public mission first, calling Samson to begin saving Israel from the Philistines. When watching the film, compare how it frames his losses alongside this calling, and whether it points viewers back to God's purpose in Judges rather than only to his personal story.
