4.耶 和 華 所 造 的 ， 各 適 其 用 ； 就 是 惡 人 也 為 禍 患 的 日 子 所 造 。Jehovah hath made everything for its own end; Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5.凡 心 裡 驕 傲 的 ， 為 耶 和 華 所 憎 惡 ； 雖 然 連 手 ， 他 必 不 免 受 罰 。Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah: Though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6.因 憐 憫 誠 實 ， 罪 孽 得 贖 ； 敬 畏 耶 和 華 的 ， 遠 離 惡 事 。By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for; And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil.
7.人 所 行 的 ， 若 蒙 耶 和 華 喜 悅 ， 耶 和 華 也 使 他 的 仇 敵 與 他 和 好 。When a man's ways please Jehovah, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8.多 有 財 利 ， 行 事 不 義 ， 不 如 少 有 財 利 ， 行 事 公 義 。Better is a little, with righteousness, Than great revenues with injustice.
10.王 的 嘴 中 有 神 語 ， 審 判 之 時 ， 他 的 口 必 不 差 錯 。A divine sentence is in the lips of the king; His mouth shall not transgress in judgment.
11.公 道 的 天 平 和 秤 都 屬 耶 和 華 ； 囊 中 一 切 法 碼 都 為 他 所 定 。A just balance and scales are Jehovah's; All the weights of the bag are his work.
12.作 惡 ， 為 王 所 憎 惡 ， 因 國 位 是 靠 公 義 堅 立 。It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness; For the throne is established by righteousness.
13.公 義 的 嘴 為 王 所 喜 悅 ； 說 正 直 話 的 ， 為 王 所 喜 愛 。Righteous lips are the delight of kings; And they love him that speaketh right.
14.王 的 震 怒 如 殺 人 的 使 者 ； 但 智 慧 人 能 止 息 王 怒 。The wrath of a king is as messengers of death; But a wise man will pacify it.
15.王 的 臉 光 使 人 有 生 命 ； 王 的 恩 典 好 像 春 雲 時 雨 。In the light of the king's countenance is life; And his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.
16.得 智 慧 勝 似 得 金 子 ； 選 聰 明 強 如 選 銀 子 。How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.
17.正 直 人 的 道 是 遠 離 惡 事 ； 謹 守 己 路 的 ， 是 保 全 性 命 。The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18.驕 傲 在 敗 壞 以 先 ； 狂 心 在 跌 倒 之 前 。Pride goeth before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.
19.心 裡 謙 卑 與 窮 乏 人 來 往 ， 強 如 將 擄 物 與 驕 傲 人 同 分 。Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, Than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20.謹 守 訓 言 的 ， 必 得 好 處 ； 倚 靠 耶 和 華 的 ， 便 為 有 福 。He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good; And whoso trusteth in Jehovah, happy is he.
21.心 中 有 智 慧 ， 必 稱 為 通 達 人 ； 嘴 中 的 甜 言 ， 加 增 人 的 學 問 。The wise in heart shall be called prudent; And the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22.人 有 智 慧 就 有 生 命 的 泉 源 ； 愚 昧 人 必 被 愚 昧 懲 治 。Understanding is a well-spring of life unto him that hath it; But the correction of fools is their folly.
23.智 慧 人 的 心 教 訓 他 的 口 ， 又 使 他 的 嘴 增 長 學 問 。The heart of the wise instructeth his mouth, And addeth learning to his lips.
24.良 言 如 同 蜂 房 ， 使 心 覺 甘 甜 ， 使 骨 得 醫 治 。Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25.有 一 條 路 ， 人 以 為 正 ， 至 終 成 為 死 亡 之 路 。There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death.
26.勞 力 人 的 胃 口 使 他 勞 力 ， 因 為 他 的 口 腹 催 逼 他 。The appetite of the laboring man laboreth for him; For his mouth urgeth him thereto.
27.匪 徒 圖 謀 奸 惡 ， 嘴 上 彷 彿 有 燒 焦 的 火 。A worthless man deviseth mischief; And in his lips there is as a scorching fire.
28.乖 僻 人 播 散 紛 爭 ； 傳 舌 的 ， 離 間 密 友 。A perverse man scattereth abroad strife; And a whisperer separateth chief friends.
29.強 暴 人 誘 惑 鄰 舍 ， 領 他 走 不 善 之 道 。A man of violence enticeth his neighbor, And leadeth him in a way that is not good.
30.眼 目 緊 合 的 ， 圖 謀 乖 僻 ； 嘴 唇 緊 閉 的 ， 成 就 邪 惡 。He that shutteth his eyes, it is to devise perverse things: He that compresseth his lips bringeth evil to pass.
31.白 髮 是 榮 耀 的 冠 冕 ， 在 公 義 的 道 上 必 能 得 著 。The hoary head is a crown of glory; It shall be found in the way of righteousness.
32.不 輕 易 發 怒 的 ， 勝 過 勇 士 ； 治 服 己 心 的 ， 強 如 取 城 。He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.
33.籤 放 在 懷 裡 ， 定 事 由 耶 和 華 。The lot is cast into the lap; But the whole disposing thereof is of Jehovah.
