13.他们各自离开自己的地方,回到自己的土地。each left his place and departed to his own land.

28.我们将赐予你们许多特权,并给予你们礼物。We will grant you many immunities and give you gifts.
29.现在我释放你们,并免除所有犹太人缴纳贡赋、盐税和王室征税,“And now I free you and exempt all the Jews from payment of tribute and salt tax and crown levies,
30.我不再收取谷物的三分之一和树上果实的一半,我从今天起就免除他们的这项负担,从今以后,我不再从犹大地和从撒马利亚及加利利加到犹大地的三个省收取这些东西。and instead of collecting the third of the grain and the half of the fruit of the trees that I should receive, I release them from this day and henceforth. I will not collect them from the land of Judah or from the three districts added to it from Samar′ia and Galilee, from this day and for all time.
31.让耶路撒冷和它的四周,以及它的什一和收入,都成为圣洁的,不受税收的约束。And let Jerusalem and her environs, her tithes and her revenues, be holy and free from tax.

33.我将犹大地所有被掳到我国任何地方的犹太人无条件释放,并免除他们的牲畜税,所有官员都要取消他们的牲畜税。And every one of the Jews taken as a captive from the land of Judah into any part of my kingdom, I set free without payment; and let all officials cancel also the taxes on their cattle.
34.一切的节期、安息日、月朔和约定的日子,以及节期前的三天和节期后的三天,都应当成为我国境内所有犹太人的免役和解放的日子。“And all the feasts and sabbaths and new moons and appointed days, and the three days before a feast and the three after a feast—let them all be days of immunity and release for all the Jews who are in my kingdom.
35.任何人不得强迫他们或因任何事烦扰他们。No one shall have authority to exact anything from them or annoy any of them about any matter.
36.“让犹太人在王的军队中招募三万人,并且要给他们与王的所有军队一样的供给。“Let Jews be enrolled in the king’s forces to the number of thirty thousand men, and let the maintenance be given them that is due to all the forces of the king.
37.让他们中的一些人驻守在王的坚固城堡里,让他们中的一些人担任王国中可信任的职位。让他们的官员和领袖从他们中选出,让他们按照王在犹大地所命令的,遵守自己的法律而生活。Let some of them be stationed in the great strongholds of the king, and let some of them be put in positions of trust in the kingdom. Let their officers and leaders be of their own number, and let them live by their own laws, just as the king has commanded in the land of Judah.
38.至于从撒马利亚地区新增到犹大地区的三个省份,让它们被并入犹大地区,以便被视为在一个统治者之下,并且只服从大祭司的权威。“As for the three districts that have been added to Judea from the country of Samar′ia, let them be so annexed to Judea that they are considered to be under one ruler and obey no other authority but the high priest.

40.我也每年从王的收入中拨出一万五千谢克尔银子,从适当的地方支出。I also grant fifteen thousand shekels of silver yearly out of the king’s revenues from appropriate places.
41.以及官员们以前年份中所做的那样,尚未支付的其余资金,他们将从现在开始提供用于圣殿的服务。And all the additional funds which the government officials have not paid as they did in the first years, they shall give from now on for the service of the temple.
42.另外,每年从圣殿供职的收入中,我的官员所收取的五千谢克银子,也予以取消,因为这本属于在那里供职的祭司。Moreover, the five thousand shekels of silver which my officials have received every year from the income of the services of the temple, this too is canceled, because it belongs to the priests who minister there.
43.凡到耶路撒冷圣殿或其内任何地方寻求庇护的人,因为欠王的债或有任何债务,都应被释放,并在我的王国中收回所有财产。And whoever takes refuge at the temple in Jerusalem, or in any of its precincts, because he owes money to the king or has any debt, let him be released and receive back all his property in my kingdom.
44.“让王的收入支付圣所建筑物重建和修复的费用。“Let the cost of rebuilding and restoring the structures of the sanctuary be paid from the revenues of the king.
45.并且要用王的收入来支付修筑耶路撒冷城墙和它的周围防御工事,以及在犹大修筑城墙的费用。And let the cost of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem and fortifying it round about, and the cost of rebuilding the walls in Judea, also be paid from the revenues of the king.”
46.德米特利死的时候,约拿单和百姓听见这些话,不相信也不接受,因为他们记得德米特利在以色列所作的大的恶事,并且他怎样严重地欺压他们。Death of Demetrius When Jonathan and the people heard these words, they did not believe or accept them, because they remembered the great wrongs which Deme′trius had done in Israel and how he had greatly oppressed them.
47.他们偏爱亚历山大,因为他是第一个对他们说和平话语的人,他们在他有生之年一直是他的盟友。They favored Alexander, because he had been the first to speak peaceable words to them, and they remained his allies all his days.

49.两位国王在战场上相遇,德米特利乌斯的军队逃跑了,亚历山大追赶他并击败了他们。The two kings met in battle, and the army of Deme′trius fled, and Alexander pursued him and defeated them.
50.他奋力战斗,直到日落,同一天,德米′特利乌斯阵亡。He pressed the battle strongly until the sun set, and Deme′trius fell on that day.

54.现在我们要彼此结为朋友,请你把女儿给我为妻,我就成为你的女婿,我也会按照你的身份给你和给她礼物。now therefore let us establish friendship with one another; give me now your daughter as my wife, and I will become your son-in-law, and will make gifts to you and to her in keeping with your position.”
55.托勒密王回答说:“你回到你祖宗之地,登上他们国的王位的那一天,真是有福。Ptol′emy the king replied and said, “Happy was the day on which you returned to the land of your fathers and took your seat on the throne of their kingdom.
56.现在我要按照你写的做,但你要到托勒玛城来,我们好彼此见面,我就像你所说的成为你的岳父。And now I will do for you as you wrote, but meet me at Ptolema′is, so that we may see one another, and I will become your father-in-law, as you have said.”
57.于是,托勒密从埃及动身,他和他的女儿克利奥帕特拉一同来到托勒玛伊斯,这是第一百六十二年。So Ptol′emy set out from Egypt, he and Cleopatra his daughter, and came to Ptolema′is in the one hundred and sixty-second year.

63.王也让他坐在自己身边,对他的官员说:“你们要与他同往城中,宣告不要有人因为任何事指控他,也不要有人因为任何理由烦扰他。”The king also seated him at his side; and he said to his officers, “Go forth with him into the middle of the city and proclaim that no one is to bring charges against him about any matter, and let no one annoy him for any reason.”
64.当他的指控者们看到他所受到的尊敬,按照宣告,他们看到他穿着紫色衣服时,他们都逃跑了。And when his accusers saw the honor that was paid him, in accordance with the proclamation, and saw him clothed in purple, they all fled.

66.约拿单平平安安地回到耶路撒冷。And Jonathan returned to Jerusalem in peace and gladness.
67.亚波罗尼乌斯被约拿单击败 在一百六十五年,德米特留的儿子德米特留从克里特岛来到他祖先的土地。Apollonius Is Defeated by Jonathan In the one hundred and sixty-fifth year Deme′trius the son of Deme′trius came from Crete to the land of his fathers.
68.亚历山大王听见这件事,极其忧愁,就回到安提阿。When Alexander the king heard of it, he was greatly grieved and returned to Antioch.
69.德米特利乌斯任命阿波罗尼乌斯为高卢西里亚的总督,阿波罗尼乌斯聚集了大量军队,在雅姆尼亚安营扎寨。然后他派人送信给大祭司约拿单说:And Deme′trius appointed Apollo′nius the governor of Coelesyria, and he assembled a large force and encamped against Jam′nia. Then he sent the following message to Jonathan the high priest:
70.你是唯一起来对抗我们的,你因为我成了众人耻笑和讥刺的对象。你为什么要在山地对抗我们,自以为是?“You are the only one to rise up against us, and I have become a laughingstock and reproach because of you. Why do you assume authority against us in the hill country?
71.如果你们现在对自己的力量有信心,就下来到平原与我们相遇,我们可以在那里一决胜负,因为我有城市的力量在我身边。If you now have confidence in your forces, come down to the plain to meet us, and let us match strength with each other there, for I have with me the power of the cities.
72.请问并且知道我是谁以及还有谁帮助我们。人们会告诉你,你不能在我们面前站立,因为你们的祖先曾两次在自己的土地上被击败。Ask and learn who I am and who the others are that are helping us. Men will tell you that you cannot stand before us, for your fathers were twice put to flight in their own land.
73.现在你们无法抵挡我的骑兵和这样的一支军队在平原上战斗,因为那里没有石头或小石子,也没有可以逃跑的地方。And now you will not be able to withstand my cavalry and such an army in the plain, where there is no stone or pebble, or place to flee.”
74.约拿单听见了亚波罗尼乌的话,他的精神被激发起来。他挑选了一万人,从耶路撒冷出发,他的兄弟西蒙前来帮助他。When Jonathan heard the words of Apollo′nius, his spirit was aroused. He chose ten thousand men and set out from Jerusalem, and Simon his brother met him to help him.
75.他在雅法安营,但城里的人关闭了城门,因为阿波罗尼乌斯在雅法有一个驻军。He encamped before Joppa, but the men of the city closed its gates, for Apollo′nius had a garrison in Joppa.
76.于是,他们与城里的人作战,城里的人害怕了,打开城门,约拿单就占领了雅法。So they fought against it, and the men of the city became afraid and opened the gates, and Jonathan gained possession of Joppa.

At the same time he advanced into the plain, for he had a large troop of cavalry and put confidence in it.
78.约拿单追赶他到亚撒,两军交战。Jonathan pursued him to Azo′tus, and the armies engaged in battle.
79.阿波罗尼乌斯已经暗中在他们后面留下了一千名骑兵。Now Apollo′nius had secretly left a thousand cavalry behind them.
80.约拿单得知自己后方有埋伏,因为敌人包围了他的军队,从早晨到下午晚些时候都向他的士兵射箭。Jonathan learned that there was an ambush behind him, for they surrounded his army and shot arrows at his men from early morning till late afternoon.
81.但他的士兵仍然坚守岗位,按照约拿单的命令,敌人的马却越来越疲劳。But his men stood fast, as Jonathan commanded, and the enemy’s horses grew tired.

87.约拿单和与他在一起的人带着许多掠物回到耶路撒冷。And Jonathan and those with him returned to Jerusalem with much booty.
88.亚历山大王听见这些事以后,就更加尊敬约拿单;When Alexander the king heard of these things, he honored Jonathan still more;
89.他送给他一枚金扣,这是送给王的亲戚的习惯。他还把以革伦和其四周的地区给了他作为他的所有物。and he sent to him a golden buckle, such as it is the custom to give to the kinsmen of kings. He also gave him Ekron and all its environs as his possession.
