1.论医生与健康 你当因你所需尊荣医生，因为主创造了他。Concerning Physicians and Health Honor the physician with the honor due him, according to your need of him, for the Lord created him;
2.因为医治来自至高者，他将得到君王所赐的礼物。for healing comes from the Most High, and he will receive a gift from the king.
3.医者的技艺抬举他的头，在贵人面前他受敬重。The skill of the physician lifts up his head, and in the presence of great men he is admired.
4.主从大地造出药物，明智的人不会藐视它们。The Lord created medicines from the earth, and a sensible man will not despise them.
5.岂不是用一棵树使水变甜，为要让人知道他的大能吗？Was not water made sweet with a tree in order that his power might be known?
6.他赐给人技能，使他奇妙的作为得着荣耀。And he gave skill to men that he might be glorified in his marvelous works.
7.他借此施行医治，祛除痛苦；By them he heals and takes away pain;
8.他用这些配成药剂，他的作为永不止息，借着他，健康临到全地。the pharmacist makes of them a compound. His works will never be finished; and from him health is upon the face of the earth.
9.我儿，你患病时不要疏忽，要向主祈祷，他必医治你。My son, when you are sick do not be negligent, but pray to the Lord, and he will heal you.
10.弃绝你的过犯，端正你的行为，洁净你的心脱离一切罪恶。Give up your faults and direct your hands aright, and cleanse your heart from all sin.
11.献上馨香之祭，与细面作的记念部分，并将油浇在你的供物上，按照你所能的。Offer a sweet-smelling sacrifice, and a memorial portion of fine flour, and pour oil on your offering, as much as you can afford.
12.当给医生他应有的地位，因为主创造了他；不要让他离开你，因为你需要他。And give the physician his place, for the Lord created him; let him not leave you, for there is need of him.
13.医治之事乃操于医师之手，There is a time when success lies in the hands of physicians,
14.因为他们也要向主祷告，求他使他们在诊断和治疗上得以成功，为要保全生命。for they too will pray to the Lord that he should grant them success in diagnosis and in healing, for the sake of preserving life.
15.在造他的主面前犯罪的，必落在医生手中。He who sins before his Maker, may he fall into the care of a physician.
16.论为亡者哀悼
我儿，你当为亡者流泪，如同身遭极大痛苦者开始哀哭。要按其所当受的尊荣为其料理遗体，切莫疏忽对他的安葬。On Mourning for the Dead My son, let your tears fall for the dead, and as one who is suffering grievously begin the lament. Lay out his body with the honor due him, and do not neglect his burial.
17.让你的哭泣带着苦涩，让你的哀号热切真诚；照着他的功德守丧一日或两日，以免招致非议；然后为你的愁苦得到慰藉。Let your weeping be bitter and your wailing fervent; observe the mourning according to his merit, for one day, or two, to avoid criticism; then be comforted for your sorrow.
18.因为忧愁使人死亡，心里愁苦使人力量衰竭。For sorrow results in death, and sorrow of heart saps one’s strength.
19.在患难中忧伤不止，穷人的一生重压着他的心。In calamity sorrow continues, and the life of the poor man weighs down his heart.
20.不要让你的心沉溺于忧伤；要将其驱散，记住人生的终点。Do not give your heart to sorrow; drive it away, remembering the end of life.
21.不要忘记，人死不能复归；你对死者毫无益处，反而伤害了自己。Do not forget, there is no coming back; you do the dead no good, and you injure yourself.
22.当记念我的灾祸，因为你的也如我的一般：昨日归我，今日归你。“Remember my doom, for yours is like it: yesterday it was mine, and today it is yours.”
23.亡者既已安息，就停止对他的追念；当他的灵魂离去时，为此而得安慰。When the dead is at rest, let his remembrance cease, and be comforted for him when his spirit has departed.
24.技艺与手艺 文士的智慧在于得享闲暇的机会；事务稀少的人可以成为有智慧的人。Trades and Crafts The wisdom of the scribe depends on the opportunity of leisure; and he who has little business may become wise.
25.执掌犁铧的怎能成为有智慧的人呢？以赶牛棒为夸耀，驱赶牛群、忙于其工，所谈论的都是牛的事，这人怎能得智慧呢？How can he become wise who handles the plow, and who glories in the shaft of a goad, who drives oxen and is occupied with their work, and whose talk is about bulls?
26.他立志犁田耕地，又谨慎为母牛预备草料。He sets his heart on plowing furrows, and he is careful about fodder for the heifers.
27.凡是工匠和师傅，日夜劳碌；那些雕刻印鉴的，各人勤勉制作各样的作品；他们专心绘画栩栩如生的形象，谨慎完成自己的工作。So too is every craftsman and master workman who labors by night as well as by day; those who cut the signets of seals, each is diligent in making a great variety; he sets his heart on painting a lifelike image, and he is careful to finish his work.
28.炼铁的坐在铁砧旁，一心一意做他的铁器；火的热气烤他的肉，炉子的高温使他消瘦；他侧耳听锤声，眼目注视所造之物的样式。他专心完成手中的工作，又仔细地修饰成品。So too is the smith sitting by the anvil, intent upon his handiwork in iron; the breath of the fire melts his flesh, and he wastes away in the heat of the furnace; he inclines his ear to the sound of the hammer, and his eyes are on the pattern of the object. He sets his heart on finishing his handiwork, and he is careful to complete its decoration.
29.Likewise the potter sitting at his work, turning the wheel with his feet, is always deeply concerned over his work, and all his output is by number. 同样是那坐在工位上制陶的，用双脚转动陶轮的人，他始终全神贯注于自己的作品，他一切的出品都是按着数目来的。So too is the potter sitting at his work and turning the wheel with his feet; he is always deeply concerned over his work, and all his output is by number.
30.他以臂揉泥，以脚使其柔软；他专心完成上釉，并仔细清理窑炉。He moulds the clay with his arm and makes it pliable with his feet; he sets his heart to finish the glazing, and he is careful to clean the furnace.
31.这一切都依靠自己的双手，各人对于自己的工作都很熟练。All these rely upon their hands, and each is skilful in his own work.
32.没有他们，城邑就不能建立，人也不能在其中寄居和生活。Without them a city cannot be established, and men can neither sojourn nor live there.
33.然而他们不被人求问谋议，在公众聚会中也不得尊显。他们不在审判座上，也不明白审判的条款；他们不能讲解教诲和判断，也不见他们使用箴言。Yet they are not sought out for the council of the people, nor do they attain eminence in the public assembly. They do not sit in the judge’s seat, nor do they understand the sentence of judgment; they cannot expound discipline or judgment, and they are not found using proverbs.
34.然而他们维系着世界的经纬，他们的祈祷就在于践行自己的技艺。But they keep stable the fabric of the world, and their prayer is in the practice of their trade.
