1. 1.에스라가 하나님의 성전 앞에 엎드려 울며 기도하여 죄를 자복할 때에 많은 백성이 크게 통곡하매 이스라엘 중에서 백성의 남녀와 어린 아이의 큰 무리가 그 앞에 모인지라Now while Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there was gathered together unto him out of Israel a very great assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept very sore.💡
2. 2.엘람 자손 중 여히엘의 아들 스가냐가 에스라에게 이르되 우리가 우리 하나님께 범죄하여 이 땅 이방 여자를 맞이하여 아내로 삼았으나 이스라엘에게 아직도 소망이 있나니And Shecaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have married foreign women of the peoples of the land: yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing.💡
3. 3.곧 내 주의 교훈을 따르며 우리 하나님의 명령을 떨며 준행하는 자의 가르침을 따라 이 모든 아내와 그들의 소생을 다 내보내기로 우리 하나님과 언약을 세우고 율법대로 행할 것이라Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.💡
4. 4.이는 당신이 주장할 일이니 일어나소서 우리가 도우리니 힘써 행하소서 하니라Arise; for the matter belongeth unto thee, and we are with thee: be of good courage, and do it.💡
5. 5.이에 에스라가 일어나 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 온 이스라엘에게 이 말대로 행하기를 맹세하게 하매 무리가 맹세하는지라Then arose Ezra, and made the chiefs of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. So they sware.💡
6. 6.이에 에스라가 하나님의 성전 앞에서 일어나 엘리아십의 아들 여호하난의 방으로 들어가니라 그가 들어가서 사로잡혔던 자들의 죄를 근심하여 음식도 먹지 아니하며 물도 마시지 아니하더니Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water; for he mourned because of the trespass of them of the captivity.💡
7. 7.유다와 예루살렘에 사로잡혔던 자들의 자손들에게 공포하기를 너희는 예루살렘으로 모이라And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;💡
8. 8.누구든지 방백들과 장로들의 훈시를 따라 삼일 내에 오지 아니하면 그의 재산을 적몰하고 사로잡혔던 자의 모임에서 쫓아내리라 하매and that whosoever came not within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the assembly of the captivity.💡
9. 9.유다와 베냐민 모든 사람들이 삼 일 내에 예루살렘에 모이니 때는 아홉째 달 이십일이라 무리가 하나님의 성전 앞 광장에 앉아서 이 일과 큰 비 때문에 떨고 있더니Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within the three days; it was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month: and all the people sat in the broad place before the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.💡
10. 10.제사장 에스라가 일어나 그들에게 이르되 너희가 범죄하여 이방 여자를 아내로 삼아 이스라엘의 죄를 더하게 하였으니And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have trespassed, and have married foreign women, to increase the guilt of Israel.💡
11. 11.이제 너희 조상들의 하나님 앞에서 죄를 자복하고 그의 뜻대로 행하여 그 지방 사람들과 이방 여인을 끊어 버리라 하니Now therefore make confession unto Jehovah, the God of your fathers, and do his pleasure; and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the foreign women.💡
12. 12.모든 회중이 큰 소리로 대답하여 이르되 당신의 말씀대로 우리가 마땅히 행할 것이니이다Then all the assembly answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said concerning us, so must we do.💡
13. 13.그러나 백성이 많고 또 큰 비가 내리는 때니 능히 밖에 서지 못할 것이요 우리가 이 일로 크게 범죄하였은즉 하루 이틀에 할 일이 아니오니But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without: neither is this a work of one day or two; for we have greatly transgressed in this matter.💡
14. 14.이제 온 회중을 위하여 우리의 방백들을 세우고 우리 모든 성읍에 이방 여자에게 장가든 자는 다 기한에 각 고을의 장로들과 재판장과 함께 오게 하여 이 일로 인한 우리 하나님의 진노가 우리에게서 떠나게 하소서 하나Let now our princes be appointed for all the assembly, and let all them that are in our cities that have married foreign women come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God be turned from us, until this matter be despatched.💡
15. 15.오직 아사헬의 아들 요나단과 디과의 아들 야스야가 일어나 그 일을 반대하고 므술람과 레위 사람 삽브대가 그들을 돕더라Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahzeiah the son of Tikvah stood up against this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.💡
16. 16.사로잡혔던 자들의 자손이 그대로 한지라 제사장 에스라가 그 종족을 따라 각각 지명된 족장들 몇 사람을 선임하고 열째 달 초하루에 앉아 그 일을 조사하여And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain heads of fathers' houses, after their fathers' houses, and all of them by their names, were set apart; and they sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.💡
17. 17.첫째 달 초하루에 이르러 이방 여인을 아내로 맞이한 자의 일 조사하기를 마치니라And they made an end with all the men that had married foreign women by the first day of the first month.💡
18. 18.제사장의 무리 중에 이방 여인을 아내로 맞이한 자는 예수아 자손 중 요사닥의 아들과 그의 형제 마아세야와 엘리에셀과 야립과 그달랴라And among the sons of the priests there were found that had married foreign women: namely, of the sons of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and his brethren, Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.💡
19. 19.그들이 다 손을 잡아 맹세하여 그들의 아내를 내보내기로 하고 또 그 죄로 말미암아 숫양 한 마리를 속건제로 드렸으며And they gave their hand that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their guilt.💡
20. 20.또 임멜 자손 중에서는 하나니와 스바댜요And of the sons of Immer: Hanani and Zebadiah.💡
21. 21.하림 자손 중에서는 마아세야와 엘리야와 스마야와 여히엘과 웃시야요And of the sons of Harim: Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.💡
22. 22.바스훌 자손 중에서는 엘료에내와 마아세야와 이스마엘과 느다넬과 요사밧과 엘라사였더라And of the sons of Pashhur: Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad, and Elasah.💡
23. 23.레위 사람 중에서는 요사밧과 시므이와 글라야라 하는 글리다와 브다히야와 유다와 엘리에셀이었더라And of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah (the same is Kelita), Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.💡
24. 24.노래하는 자 중에서는 엘리아십이요 문지기 중에서는 살룸과 델렘과 우리였더라And of the singers: Eliashib. And of the porters: Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.💡
25. 25.이스라엘 중에서는 바로스 자손 중에서는 라먀와 잇시야와 말기야와 미야민과 엘르아살과 말기야와 브나야요And of Israel: Of the sons of Parosh: Ramiah, and Izziah, and Malchijah, and Mijamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.💡
26. 26.엘람 자손 중에서는 맛다냐와 스가랴와 여히엘과 압디와 여레못과 엘리야요And of the sons of Elam: Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Elijah.💡
27. 27.삿두 자손 중에서는 엘료에내와 엘리아십과 맛다냐와 여레못과 사밧과 아시사요And of the sons of Zattu: Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.💡
28. 28.베배 자손 중에서는 여호하난과 하나냐와 삽배와 아들래요And of the sons of Bebai: Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.💡
29. 29.바니 자손 중에서는 므술람과 말룩과 아다야와 야숩과 스알과 여레못이요And of the sons of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, Jeremoth.💡
30. 30.바핫모압 자손 중에서는 앗나와 글랄과 브나야와 마아세야와 맛다냐와 브살렐과 빈누이와 므낫세요And of the sons of Pahath-moab: Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezalel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.💡
31. 31.하림 자손 중에서는 엘리에셀과 잇시야와 말기야와 스마야와 시므온과And of the sons of Harim: Eliezer, Isshijah, Malchijah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,💡
32. 32.베냐민과 말룩과 스마랴요Benjamin, Malluch, Shemariah.💡
33. 33.하숨 자손 중에서는 맛드내와 맛닷다와 사밧과 엘리벨렛과 여레매와 므낫세와 시므이요Of the sons of Hashum: Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, Shimei.💡
34. 34.바니 자손 중에서는 마아대와 아므람과 우엘과Of the sons of Bani: Maadai, Amram, and Uel,💡
35. 35.브나야와 베드야와 글루히와Benaiah, Bedeiah, Cheluhi,💡
36. 36.와냐와 므레못과 에랴십과Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,💡
37. 37.맛다냐와 맛드내와 야아수와Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasu,💡
38. 38.바니와 빈누이와 시므이와and Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,💡
39. 39.셀레먀와 나단과 아다야와and Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,💡
40. 40.막나드배와 사새와 사래와Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,💡
41. 41.아사렐과 셀레먀와 스마랴와Azarel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,💡
42. 42.살룸과 아마랴와 요셉이요Shallum, Amariah, Joseph.💡
43. 43.느보 자손 중에서는 여이엘과 맛디디야와 사밧과 스비내와 잇도와 요엘과 브나야더라Of the sons of Nebo: Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Iddo, and Joel, Benaiah.💡
44. 44.이상은 모두 이방 여인을 아내로 맞이한 자라 그 중에는 자녀를 낳은 여인도 있었더라All these had taken foreign wives; and some of them had wives by whom they had children.💡
