1. 1.耶 和 華 留 下 這 幾 族 ， 為 要 試 驗 那 不 曾 知 道 與 迦 南 爭 戰 之 事 的 以 色 列 人 ，Now these are the nations which Jehovah left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;💡
2. 2.好 叫 以 色 列 的 後 代 又 知 道 又 學 習 未 曾 曉 得 的 戰 事 。only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as beforetime knew nothing thereof:💡
3. 3.所 留 下 的 就 是 非 利 士 的 五 個 首 領 和 一 切 迦 南 人 、 西 頓 人 ， 並 住 利 巴 嫩 山 的 希 未 人 ， 從 巴 力 黑 們 山 直 到 哈 馬 口 。namely, the five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baal-hermon unto the entrance of Hamath.💡
4. 4.留 下 這 幾 族 ， 為 要 試 驗 以 色 列 人 ， 知 道 他 們 肯 聽 從 耶 和 華 藉 摩 西 吩 咐 他 們 列 祖 的 誡 命 不 肯 。And they were left, to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah, which he commanded their fathers by Moses.💡
5. 5.以 色 列 人 竟 住 在 迦 南 人 、 赫 人 、 亞 摩 利 人 、 比 利 洗 人 、 希 未 人 、 耶 布 斯 人 中 間 ，And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites:💡
6. 6.娶 他 們 的 女 兒 為 妻 ， 將 自 己 的 女 兒 嫁 給 他 們 的 兒 子 ， 並 事 奉 他 們 的 　 神 。and they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their own daughters to their sons and served their gods.💡
7. 7.以 色 列 人 行 耶 和 華 眼 中 看 為 惡 的 事 ， 忘 記 耶 和 華 ─ 他 們 的 　 神 ， 去 事 奉 諸 巴 力 和 亞 舍 拉 ，And the children of Israel did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and forgat Jehovah their God, and served the Baalim and the Asheroth.💡
8. 8.所 以 耶 和 華 的 怒 氣 向 以 色 列 人 發 作 ， 就 把 他 們 交 在 米 所 波 大 米 王 古 珊 利 薩 田 的 手 中 。 以 色 列 人 服 事 古 珊 利 薩 田 八 年 。Therefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years.💡
9. 9.以 色 列 人 呼 求 耶 和 華 的 時 候 ， 耶 和 華 就 為 他 們 興 起 一 位 拯 救 者 救 他 們 ， 就 是 迦 勒 兄 弟 基 納 斯 的 兒 子 俄 陀 聶 。And when the children of Israel cried unto Jehovah, Jehovah raised up a saviour to the children of Israel, who saved them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.💡
10. 10.耶 和 華 的 靈 降 在 他 身 上 ， 他 就 作 了 以 色 列 的 士 師 ， 出 去 爭 戰 。 耶 和 華 將 米 所 波 大 米 王 古 珊 利 薩 田 交 在 他 手 中 ， 他 便 勝 了 古 珊 利 薩 田 。And the Spirit of Jehovah came upon him, and he judged Israel; and he went out to war, and Jehovah delivered Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand: and his hand prevailed against Cushan-rishathaim.💡
11. 11.於 是 國 中 太 平 四 十 年 。 基 納 斯 的 兒 子 俄 陀 聶 死 了 。And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.💡
12. 12.以 色 列 人 又 行 耶 和 華 眼 中 看 為 惡 的 事 ， 耶 和 華 就 使 摩 押 王 伊 磯 倫 強 盛 ， 攻 擊 以 色 列 人 。And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: and Jehovah strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah.💡
13. 13.伊 磯 倫 招 聚 亞 捫 人 和 亞 瑪 力 人 ， 去 攻 打 以 色 列 人 ， 佔 據 棕 樹 城 。And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek; and he went and smote Israel, and they possessed the city of palm-trees.💡
14. 14.於 是 以 色 列 人 服 事 摩 押 王 伊 磯 倫 十 八 年 。And the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.💡
15. 15.以 色 列 人 呼 求 耶 和 華 的 時 候 ， 耶 和 華 就 為 他 們 興 起 一 位 拯 救 者 ， 就 是 便 雅 憫 人 基 拉 的 兒 子 以 笏 ； 他 是 左 手 便 利 的 。 以 色 列 人 託 他 送 禮 物 給 摩 押 王 伊 磯 倫 。But when the children of Israel cried unto Jehovah, Jehovah raised them up a saviour, Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a man left-handed. And the children of Israel sent tribute by him unto Eglon the king of Moab.💡
16. 16.以 笏 打 了 一 把 兩 刃 的 劍 ， 長 一 肘 ， 帶 在 右 腿 衣 服 裡 面 。And Ehud made him a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length; and he girded it under his raiment upon his right thigh.💡
17. 17.他 將 禮 物 獻 給 摩 押 王 伊 磯 倫 （ 原 來 伊 磯 倫 極 其 肥 胖 ） ；And he offered the tribute unto Eglon king of Moab: now Eglon was a very fat man.💡
18. 18.以 笏 獻 完 禮 物 ， 便 將 抬 禮 物 的 人 打 發 走 了 ，And when he had made an end of offering the tribute, he sent away the people that bare the tribute.💡
19. 19.自 己 卻 從 靠 近 吉 甲 鑿 石 之 地 回 來 ， 說 ： 王 啊 ， 我 有 一 件 機 密 事 奏 告 你 。 王 說 ： 迴 避 罷 ！ 於 是 左 右 侍 立 的 人 都 退 去 了 。But he himself turned back from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king. And he said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.💡
20. 20.以 笏 來 到 王 面 前 ； 王 獨 自 一 人 坐 在 涼 樓 上 。 以 笏 說 ： 我 奉 　 神 的 命 報 告 你 一 件 事 。 王 就 從 座 位 上 站 起 來 。And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.💡
21. 21.以 笏 便 伸 左 手 ， 從 右 腿 上 拔 出 劍 來 ， 刺 入 王 的 肚 腹 ，And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the sword from his right thigh, and thrust it into his body:💡
22. 22.連 劍 把 都 刺 進 去 了 。 劍 被 肥 肉 夾 住 ， 他 沒 有 從 王 的 肚 腹 拔 出 來 ， 且 穿 通 了 後 身 。and the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, for he drew not the sword out of his body; and it came out behind.💡
23. 23.以 笏 就 出 到 遊 廊 ， 將 樓 門 盡 都 關 鎖 。Then Ehud went forth into the porch, and shut the doors of the upper room upon him, and locked them.💡
24. 24.以 笏 出 來 之 後 ， 王 的 僕 人 到 了 ， 看 見 樓 門 關 鎖 ， 就 說 ： 他 必 是 在 樓 上 大 解 。Now when he was gone out, his servants came; and they saw, and, behold, the doors of the upper room were locked; and they said, Surely he is covering his feet in the upper chamber.💡
25. 25.他 們 等 煩 了 ， 見 仍 不 開 樓 門 ， 就 拿 鑰 匙 開 了 ， 不 料 ， 他 們 的 主 人 已 死 ， 倒 在 地 上 。And they tarried till they were ashamed; and, behold, he opened not the doors of the upper room: therefore they took the key, and opened them, and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.💡
26. 26.他 們 耽 延 的 時 候 ， 以 笏 就 逃 跑 了 ， 經 過 鑿 石 之 地 ， 逃 到 西 伊 拉 ；And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirah.💡
27. 27.到 了 ， 就 在 以 法 蓮 山 地 吹 角 。 以 色 列 人 隨 著 他 下 了 山 地 ， 他 在 前 頭 引 路 ，And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the hill-country of Ephraim; and the children of Israel went down with him from the hill-country, and he before them.💡
28. 28.對 他 們 說 ： 你 們 隨 我 來 ， 因 為 耶 和 華 已 經 把 你 們 的 仇 敵 摩 押 人 交 在 你 們 手 中 。 於 是 他 們 跟 著 他 下 去 ， 把 守 約 但 河 的 渡 口 ， 不 容 摩 押 一 人 過 去 。And he said unto them, Follow after me; for Jehovah hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of the Jordan against the Moabites, and suffered not a man to pass over.💡
29. 29.那 時 擊 殺 了 摩 押 人 約 有 一 萬 ， 都 是 強 壯 的 勇 士 ， 沒 有 一 人 逃 脫 。And they smote of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, every lusty man, and every man of valor; and there escaped not a man.💡
30. 30.這 樣 ， 摩 押 就 被 以 色 列 人 制 伏 了 。 國 中 太 平 八 十 年 。So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.💡
31. 31.以 笏 之 後 ， 有 亞 拿 的 兒 子 珊 迦 ， 他 用 趕 牛 的 棍 子 打 死 六 百 非 利 士 人 。 他 也 救 了 以 色 列 人 。And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who smote of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox - goad: and he also saved Israel.💡
