창세기 47장 — 야곱의 애굽 정착과 요셉의 토지 개혁

  1. 1.요셉이 바로에게 가서 고하여 이르되 내 아버지와 내 형들과 그들의 양과 소와 모든 소유가 가나안 땅에서 와서 고센 땅에 있나이다 하고Then Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.

  17. 17.그들이 그들의 가축을 요셉에게 끌어오는지라 요셉이 그 말과 양 떼와 소 떼와 나귀를 받고 그들에게 먹을 것을 주되 곧 그 모든 가축과 바꾸어서 그 해 동안에 먹을 것을 그들에게 주니라And they brought their cattle unto Joseph; and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, and for the flocks, and for the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread in exchange for all their cattle for that year.
  18. 18.그 해가 다 가고 새 해가 되매 무리가 요셉에게 와서 그에게 말하되 우리가 주께 숨기지 아니하나이다 우리의 돈이 다하였고 우리의 가축 떼가 주께로 돌아갔사오니 주께 낼 것이 아무것도 남지 아니하고 우리의 몸과 토지뿐이라And when that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide from my lord, how that our money is all spent; and the herds of cattle are my lord's; there is nought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
  19. 19.우리가 어찌 우리의 토지와 함께 주의 목전에 죽으리이까 우리 몸과 우리 토지를 먹을 것을 주고 사소서 우리가 토지와 함께 바로의 종이 되리니 우리에게 종자를 주시면 우리가 살고 죽지 아니하며 토지도 황폐하게 되지 아니하리이다wherefore should we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, and that the land be not desolate.
  20. 20.그러므로 요셉이 애굽의 모든 토지를 다 사서 바로에게 바치니 애굽의 모든 사람들이 기근에 시달려 각기 토지를 팔았음이라 땅이 바로의 소유가 되니라So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine was sore upon them: and the land became Pharaoh's.
